Introducing: Google Product Listing Ads with Product Ratings

We’re thrilled to announce another amazing feature for Yotpo users: Google Product Listing Ads with Product Ratings. Yotpo has been selected as one of a handful of Google-approved reviews aggregators to be a part of the PLA product ratings launch, meaning your Yotpo reviews will show up in your Product Listing ads, making them richer and driving more qualified traffic to your site.

What are Google Product Listing Ads?

Google describes PLAs as “search ads that include richer product information, such as product image, price, and merchant name without requiring additional keywords or ad text.” Now, these ads can feature your products’ reviews information too!

When you enable reviews info on your Product Listing Ads, your products’ average star rating and number of reviews will show up. This has 3 main benefits:

  • It helps differentiate your products across Google results and in Google Shopping
  • It helps you drive more qualified traffic to your store
  • It helps provide critical info to shoppers making purchase decisions

How do I set them up?

You can set up a Product Listing Ads campaign through the Google Merchant center or through AdWords. Either way, you’ll need to set up a Google Merchant account first.

After that, you just need to enable PLAs in the Yotpo Admin and select a category for your store. Don’t worry if you can’t find an exact match for your category, just use the closest fit.

Please Note: Google only accepts reviews with both a title and body. If you have the mandatory title turned off for your reviews (in your General Settings), you must turn it on to use the Product Listing Ads feature. If you need any help, reach out to Support or your Client Success Manager.

How can I get Google Product Listing Ads with Product Ratings?

This feature is available on Yotpo’s Powerhouse and Enterprise plans. Check out this page to learn more about these plans or to request a demo.

How are these different from Google Seller Ratings?

Google Seller Ratings (also called Google ratings) show up only in text ads and refer just to your store, pulling info from your site or business reviews. Product Listing Ads with Product Ratings pull info from your product reviews and show up on ads that include an image of your product.

Will ratings show up in all of the Product Listing Ads?

When a product has at least 3 reviews and Google determines that the review information is accurate and relevant for the user, ratings will show up.

This includes Google shopping ads on mobile, desktop or tablets.
