In today’s competitive eCommerce landscape, speed is everything.

Table Of Contents

Even if your products have five-star reviews across the board, slow load times mean potential customers just aren’t going to stick around.

Research shows that a one second increase in page load speed leads to 11% fewer page views and a 7% loss in conversions. In fact, 40% of people abandon a website that takes more than three seconds to load.

“Load times site-wide, across all parts of the website, are so important for our entire customer journey (not just conversion). Given the sensitive and personal nature of our products, we need reviews front and center for our customers,” says Amanda Kwasniewicz, VP Customer Experience at Love Wellness.

The bottom line? If your pages aren’t loading in less than a second, your bottom line will suffer.

That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Yotpo’s review widgets now load on Shopify in under 0.5 seconds.

“Displaying authentic reviews at key moments in the buyer journey can mean the difference between a customer completing a purchase or abandoning their cart altogether. Our top priority is to set up our merchants up for success, and Yotpo’s fast-loading widgets are critical to achieving this by enabling a frictionless customer experience,” says Brian Peters, Strategic Partnerships, Shopify.

How does it work?

Thanks to our innovative new approach, Yotpo widgets on Shopify are now loaded as a part of the HTML of the page, instead of loading via our Javascript. Rather than having to request the content from Yotpo’s servers, the content is already stored in the Shopify store, meaning less than 0.5 second load speed times for our Reviews, Q&A Bottomline, and Star Rating widgets.

Having reviews load immediately has had such a huge impact on our business. Since updating to the fast-loading widgets, we have seen a direct jump in AOV and average time on site, bringing us our highest numbers in both categories YTD,” -Amanda Kwasniewicz, Love Wellness

The benefits

Not only do our fast-loading widgets help reduce bounce rate and drive conversion: they also have an impact on SEO. Content stored in a page’s HTML is more easily crawlable by Google, meaning a higher SEO ranking for your store, and more organic traffic driven to your site.

“It’s incredible to see what an update to one widget has done already — excited to see what’s next!” Amanda concludes.

Our new fast-loading widgets are available only to Shopify customers, and only for a select range of widgets. For more information on installing them on your store, click here.
