NEW YORK, NY (March 9, 2022)Yotpo, the eCommerce marketing platform that helps brands strengthen their relationships with consumers, has announced the Amazing Women in eCommerce (AWIE) 2022 honorees. Presented by Yotpo, AWIE is a program dedicated to recognizing the women who are shaping the future of how we buy, while raising money for Girls Inc. to build up the next generation of women business leaders. To date, Yotpo, AWIE community members and program sponsors have raised over $110,000 for Girls Inc.

“Five years into this program and we’re still humbled and inspired by the stories and accomplishments of these women pioneers,” said Ruthie Berber, Senior Manager of Community at Yotpo. “Despite coming from different countries, cultures, companies, and brands, this year’s class of Amazing Women honorees have one thing in common: they break barriers and boundaries on a daily basis to propel the industry forward, so that eCommerce is accessible, equitable and delightful for a growing population of online consumers.”

Selected from a record-breaking 3,300 women nominated by peers and champions from the broader retail industry, Yotpo’s fifth annual group of honorees represents founders, marketers, leaders, innovators, and rising stars from an industry that experienced significant acceleration in recent years, as more consumers turned to shopping online during the pandemic.

Honorees of Yotpo’s 2022 Amazing Women in eCommerce include:

  • Aisha Chotani, Founder and CEO, Moment

“I want to build a company that will last for the next 100 years, which means taking our message to thousands of new people, adding the right people to our team and building new processes.”

  • Jennifer Le, Senior Enterprise Account Executive, Shopify Plus

“As women, we struggle with imposter syndrome statistically at a higher rate; insert being a woman of color into that equation—that feeling really skyrockets. I’ve been able to tap into a new level of confidence because not only is this an industry that excites me, I’ve found a space that I understand and can relate to without having to alter my authenticity.”

  • Lindsay Albright, Director of Retention, MeUndies

“I like to look at disruptors in all industries, not just eCommerce. Many times, the core of their innovative tactics and creative ideas can be adapted and applied to many different businesses.”

  • Lillian ‘FlexMami’ Ahenkan, Founder, Flex Factory

“I share my thoughts over as many mediums as possible. I’m a Professional Opinion Haver of sorts.”

  • MaryAnn Bekkedahl, SVP, Business Development & Partnerships at BigCommerce

The next big trend in eCommerce? “Selling everywhere. Across all channels and formats, as well as cross-border. The barriers are shrinking, and fantastic tools exist to enable merchants to expand their shopper base significantly.”

  • Ashmi Turakhia, VP, Enterprise Analytics, Rue21

“I am always there for my team to remove blockers and discuss risks, diving in-depth when needed but at the same time I would want them to learn and reflect on their own.”

  • NJ Falk, Managing Partner, Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL)

“Because change is a constant, I think the key 2022 trend is the ability of a brand to be nimble, adapt, and roll out numerous emerging eCommerce trends simultaneously.”
