Role & Responsibilities:
The Manager, Email Marketing, will be responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution of our email marketing program including Batch & Blast and Triggered emails. You will be tasked with optimizing performance, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring alignment with our overall marketing strategy. This role includes full ownership of the channel strategy, calendar planning, briefing, creative review, reporting, and analytics. You will also manage the relationship and personalization program with our vendor, ensuring that all personalization efforts are effectively implemented. You will manage one direct report and will report directly to the Director of Site Merchandising.
This is a hybrid role, onsite in Brooklyn 4x a week
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive email marketing strategy for West Elm
- Strategize and execute life-cycle email marketing initiatives targeted at key customer segments
- Conduct in-depth performance analysis to inform data-driven recommendations for future campaigns
- Manage the end-to-end creative development process for email campaigns from briefing through execution
- Manage the relationship and personalization program with vendor Moveable Ink, optimizing for growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, creative, inventory management and other functions to ensure a cohesive customer experience that drives the business
- Maintain consistency of messaging across all channels, ensuring alignment with site content
- Support cross-channel marketing initiatives as needed
- Monitor industry trends and analyze competitive landscape to keep email strategies on par with the market
- Partner with the CRM team to refine customer segmentation and conduct testing to optimize email performance
- Prepare and present reports on key metrics, providing insights and recommendations
Criteria
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in digital marketing with at least 3 years of retail/ecommerce experience; merchandising experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to leadership audience
- Proven project management expertise with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
