Role & Responsibilities:
The Retention & Lifecycle Marketing Manager at MOSH will lead customer-focused marketing efforts across email, sms, direct mail, and integrated channels, driving loyalty, engagement, and revenue. This role has a strong focus on performance marketing, optimizing the customer journey to achieve measurable results. Reporting to the Head of Growth, the Retention & Lifecycle Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to craft and execute strategies that deepen customer relationships and maximize lifetime value. This is a critical role for brand growth and establishing our brand as a leader in the CPG space.

We’re a lean team of high performers, and we’re looking for someone versatile and dynamic enough to thrive in an early stage startup, yet experienced enough to skillfully manage a dynamic lifecycle marketing program. We’re looking for a data-driven, creative thinking and results-focused over achiever who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty.
You’ll have extreme attention to detail, be highly analytical, and can take ownership of tactical daily operations at a growing company with endless opportunities. You get excited by details but can also see the big picture. The Lifecycle Marketing Manager will report to the Head of Growth, and oversee dynamic and complex automated and personalized customer journeys across email, SMS, direct mail, referral and loyalty programs. This role will partner closely with brand marketing, design, sales and operations, and web development.
Retention Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute retention strategies across email, direct mail, and other integrated marketing channels to increase customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Optimize lifecycle marketing programs (welcome series, post-purchase, win-back) to drive engagement and conversion.
- Analyze customer data to extract insights and identify trends, opportunities, and segmentation strategies that enhance personalization and relevance.
Email, SMS & Direct Mail Campaigns:
- Work cross functionally to lead planning and briefing, and execution of email marketing campaigns to drive retention and leads conversion.
- Implement creative strategies to increase email sign ups
- Implement email segmentation strategy to optimize for conversion
- Oversee direct mail initiatives and customer marketing touch points, ensuring they complement digital campaigns and achieve measurable ROI.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
Customer Insights & Data Analysis:
- Leverage customer data to develop insights that inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities to increase lifetime value.
- Build and maintain dashboards to track campaign performance and retention metrics.
- Use analytics to understand customer behavior and refine segmentation.
Cross-Channel Collaboration:
- Work with brand, creative, and web dev to align messaging and optimize customer touchpoints.
- Partner with performance marketing to integrate retention efforts with acquisition strategies.
- Collaborate on content that supports customer education and engagement.
Optimization & Testing:
- Conduct A/B testing to improve email, sms, direct mail, and other customer marketing performance.
- Continuously iterate on messaging, design, and delivery for optimal results.
- Stay informed on retention marketing trends and tools to innovate and enhance campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-5 years of dedicated experience in retention, email, or customer marketing, with a focus on performance-driven campaigns; in-house or agency
- Proven success managing lifecycle marketing programs – experience with CPG subscription services preferred
- Proficient using Klaviyo, Attentive, Shopify Plus, ReCharge, Direct Mail, and Rebuy (or similar enterprise level service providers)
- Strategic thinker who can drive retention and growth goals, and improve performance metrics
- Bias towards action, scrappy, and with the execution skills to make it all count
- Excellent project management skills with an ability to set and achieve goals, meet deadlines, and multitask
- Analytical thinking skills with a depth of knowledge in digital analytics and reporting
- Experience with A/B testing, audience segmentation, and more complex communication testing required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, team oriented and proactive
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
